Sourced from the fertile valleys of Afghanistan, where saffron has been cultivated for centuries, this extraordinary spice is revered for its unique aroma, vibrant color, and exquisite flavor.

Our Afghanistan saffron is hand-harvested with the utmost care and precision by skilled local farmers, who meticulously pick each delicate saffron crocus at dawn to preserve its full potency. The vibrant red stigmas are then separated and sun-dried to perfection, resulting in the finest quality saffron that Afghanistan has to offer.

The flavor profile of our Afghanistan saffron is truly unparalleled. A subtle and sophisticated blend of sweet, earthy, and floral notes, it imparts an ethereal depth and complexity to any dish. The initial taste of warm, sweet honey is followed by a symphony of floral and herbaceous undertones, culminating in a lingering, bittersweet finish that will captivate your taste buds.

The captivating aroma of this Afghanistan saffron is equally enchanting. The intoxicating scent of fragrant flowers, sun-kissed hay, and a hint of muskiness will fill your kitchen, transporting you to the sun-drenched fields of Afghanistan, where each crimson thread is nurtured to perfection.

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm livid.

EXPIRED plus it is probably fake. I saw some comments made by people who peeled the sticker back and found an expiration date of May 2023. So I peeled mine back and found the same older expiration date. If a company can lie about this they can certainly lie about this being real saffron. ABSURD. Do not buy Saffron from this company.

L.S.,
I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed in your order! I can assure you, the saffron that we provide is of the highest quality. We mistakenly purchased a very large amount of the saffron tins a while back, and are working our way through them, filling them regularly with our newest shipments of saffron from Afghanistan. This way, we're able to provide the accurate expiration date, while still keeping customer costs as low as possible by using the mis-dated packaging. I would be more than willing to provide photos and documentation to back up this information, if you'd like. Please reach out to us at support@vanillabeankings.com if you have any additional questions or concerns!

It’s fresh, it’s bright, it’s a beautiful herb/spice to add to so many dishes. Great price for such a clean, vibrant spice.

Incorrect expiry date

The expiry date on the sticker on the tin is January 2026. But I found the expiry date on the tin box is 07/2023. It expired 8 months ago. Although the saffron thread is still looking good, I wonder the seller cheats on expiry dates. If I don't get a reasonable explanation, I will avoid to order any products from them or refer them to my friends.

Hi Daphne,

The product itself is not expired! The tin canisters were purchased long ago and we had to buy them in bulk due to COVID. Unfortunately we purchased too many with a printed expiration date on them so we simply labeled over them with the correct expiration/best by date! If you have any concerns, we would be happy to show proof of supplier invoices that matches production dates!

Thanks,
VBK Team
